What is vMotion?
VMware vMotion enables the live migration of running VMs from on physical server to another with zero downtime, continuous service availability, and complete transaction integrity. vMotion is outstanding technology for allowing dynamic, automated and self organized data center.
Requirements:
- CPU compatibility
- vMotion interface - vmk on source and destination host
- shared storage or storage vMotion "licensed"
- Network access between source and destination hosts (at least 1gb NIC)
- Sufficient resources on destination / target host
- vSphere license
- Network bandwidth requirement is 250Mbps

Starting vMotion
Few thing to note:
- vCenter does the initial step, it chooses which VMK/Network to use
- ESXI communication tests ping and MTU when setting connection
- vMotion has 12 states found inside the vmware.log (source and destination)
