API Primitives and Basic Objects

• API resources: objects that represent the state of the cluster
• Pods: smallest deployable units in Kubernetes
• ReplicaSets: ensures a specified number of replicas of a pod are running
• Deployments: declarative updates for Pods and ReplicaSets
• Services: abstraction that defines a logical set of Pods and a policy to access them

NOTE:

• svc - related to consider when creating a service using

  • kubectl expose ... command that you can not use the command line parameters to set the nodeports
  • kubectl create service … command that you can not use a command line parameter —selector to set the selector on a service

  you need to do it using expose command or the declarative way using a yaml file
